I have tried weaning them off the other two foods, but most of them end up wasting most of the Oxbow. At first, when I started mixing the different foods together, most of them would pick out the other pellets and leave behind the Oxbow (I told you they were picky) even after I would get rid of the colorful bits (maybe it smells/tastes very different)? I tried the red Oxbow bag and had similar luck. I then tried mixing in a bag of Rosewood Naturals Nature''s Salad or SunSeed Vita Prima Sun Salad (I do pick out the hard bits that look like dried cranberries as I''m afraid they could choke on them) with their pellets and it seemed that concentrating on fishing out the "treats" kept them more distracted from picking out the Oxbow pellets and they ate more. So now, that is what I do. If it wasn''t for the fact that research has led me to conclude that Oxbow makes some of the best pellets for adult guinea pigs, then I would probably avoid all the hassle and just feed the other pellets. Maybe I just spoil my guinea pigs too much, but I''d like to make sure they have a somewhat healthy diet. They do eat their hay and veggies so I have considered taking them off pellets completely, but I want to make sure they get all their vitamin C so they don''t develop scurvy. I will probably continue buying this as long as I have guinea pigs, I just wish they would eat it with no problems, but I figure you get what you pay for. TL;DR-My guinea pigs would rather eat different pellets, but after doing research, it seems Oxbow makes some of the healthiest food for adult guinea pigs so I buy this and mix it in with other pellets to make sure my piggies get a decent diet (they do eat their daily serving of veggies and hay as well). I would recommend this and recommend continuing to try it even if they snub it at first.
