I think they broke the squeaker within a week or less, but dogs still play with them every day, they love playing fetch with them. They only have 1 squeaky toy out of like 10 that the squeaker actually still works so we''re used to that and pretty much expect it. The small is great for all of our dogs, but the medium is okay too. Our small yorkie-poo seems to prefer the medium size, but the largest cocker-spaniel prefers the small size, just depends on your dog. Most of the smalls we have ordered were blue, and all of the medium were red. We did receive a small one once that was red, so I do not think they are completely consistent with the colors and the sizes, but the dogs don''t really care about that so neither do we.

First picture of yorkie-poo is the small red ball. Other pictures are the small blue ball. He has never in his life had an interest in playing fetch, but he faithfully ran after this ball, caught it, and even sorta kinda returned it to me for a solid half hour today.
He absolutely loves holding it in his mouth and biting on it. He also loved doing that with the original ball which was missing the squeaker, so it must be a texture thing.
