The food in this bag is darker in color than either of the other two. My least-discriminating cat - the one who will eat just about anything (including what another cat vomits up after eating too quickly) - will not touch it. She even rejects her very favorite canned food when it is the same dish as this. My other two cats will eat it, but they seem to have trouble with it sticking to their teeth, spending a lot of time chewing and trying to dislodge it after each bite. I usually toss bits of kibble for each cat to chase before meals; after a few bites, they wouldn''t even look at this. All three would just sit staring at me with identical, betrayed expressions.

After a few of days with no progress toward accepting the new food, I decided to give the Newman''s Own kibble a try again. All three cats are so much happier! They chase the Newman''s very enthusiastically, and will quickly polish it off from their dishes. I am once again their favorite human. I emailed them because OUR CAT GOT CYSTITIS FROM THIS FOOD! VET SAID DO NOT USE THIS! Comparatively their canned food, some have .17% up to .27% phosphorous. We now have to use Hill''s Science diet. If our cat had been male, it would have needed surgery or death now! Our cat ate this food for years and became ill, CYSTITIS with bleeding. Still not fixed after months. Company gave no agreement to me telling them they should have warning label and should lower their phosphorous amount in this product! ALSO, CATS GET TOO LITTLE LIQUID FROM EATING DRY FOOD! And if something stresses them, that also increases cause on top of these. This food company betrayed our trust in it and harmed our cat! And as another responder says, "phosphorous is not listed"!!! WHY NOT REVEAL IT ON PACKAGE? You find out when its already harmed you!

They won’t touch it! Their heads go into the bowl and then their head recoils up and they don’t eat it. I thought it was the bowl so I cleaned it out and poured out a new batch. They were excited to hear me putting food in the bowl, ran over and same thing. They wouldn’t eat it. So now I have a big bag of expensive cat food and have to buy something else. While I guess I could try the smaller bag again, I don’t want to reward the company with the revenue.
