See more I know I cant be the only guinea pig owner allergic to hays they eat; so when i saw this was pressed into disks so i wouldnt be reaching into a packed hay bag and fluffing all those allergens out on myself when i pull it out I jumped at it! My guinea pigs love it. Its recommended to tear them a bit to loosen the hay but maybe thats for young or old pigs. My adult piggies LOVE the challenge finding the hay pieces sticking out and pulling them out unraveling more-its very entertaining and not messy! Bless this product, now they need to create a bigger container of these disks so I wont go through these boxes so fast! each disk is 3-4" thick easy to seperate from the stack :) 8 people found this helpful Helpful Report Elise H.5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Picky Bunny Now Eats Hay! See more My daughter’s bunny was having some serious digestive issues and needed to eat more hay. He was picky and wouldn’t eat any hay at all. I bought some of these haystacks with carrots for her to give to him. At first he was just picking out the carrots but I kept telling her to give fresh haystacks whenever he ate all the carrots so that he would stay interested.. My theory was if he kept having to put his face into the hay to get at the carrots, he would eventually eat some of the hay. That’s pretty much what happened. At first she noticed he was eating one piece of hay here and there but after a few days he was eating a lot more hay. In order to get to that point she had to put a new one down almost every other day because he was mostly just picking out the carrots. It did get a bit expensive. It also made a big mess but when you are desperate to get a bunny to eat hay you might be willing to try anything. Haha. She gave him the same amount of lettuce but limited his pellets a bit too in order to keep him slightly hungry but still gave him enough pellets so he wasn’t starving either. She stopped giving him other treats so the carrots would be more enticing. It seemed as if he hadn’t been seeing the hay as food but I think the carrot hay stacks got him to associate hay with food and eventually see the hay as food. I’m writing so many details in this review for people who have been desperately trying to get their picky bunny to eat hay because maybe, just maybe, these carrot haystacks will do the trick. I know that she tried a lot of different things so we know that feeling of desperation. Good luck! 7 people found this helpful Helpful Report 2gemsdaddy5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase no asthma attacks Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2021Style: Western Timothy with Chamomile This is a family life saver! Both my hubby and our 2 daughters have asthma, and the feeding of hay had to become MY job for a piggy that''s not even mine! So, when I saw these available, I thought may as well try it. WE have just one piggy who makes more mess than both our daughters combined by himself, so I put this in his wire ball hay holder, used a fork between the wires to slightly loosen it, and voila! I have a way for him to exercise while he eats!!
The holder/dispenser is a spherical ball/cage that one opens to put the hay into. These discs fit just perfectly inside it. When I put the discs in his dish, he dragged them everywhere, so the mess was minimized, but not nearly as much as it is now. Plus he gets a good workout getting his hay!! Now, because the dust is so greatly minimized, we have no more sneezing or itchy eyes or skin on the part of us piggy parents. Hooray!!!!

After they played with it for a good ten minutes. I think they thought it was a toy at first. And yes I put it in their hay feeder, just didn''t stay there. After they had their fun they destroyed it. It was like a giant hay bomb went off in their cage. Less mess, no. My bunnies loved it, yes. Which in my book is more important then having to clean up a bigger mess. 4 people found this helpful Helpful Report loveiscake5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Worth Every Penny Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2020Style: Western Timothy with Carrots
My daughter’s piggies loved it so much they tried to push it into one of their igloos. It’s also super helpful when it comes to clean up. When using the bulk hay I’m always sick after, but the stack has far less dust and mess. It’s not cheat, but worth every penny. 4 people found this helpful Helpful Report amp5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Great idea and prevents mess! I have a one bunny and I also live in a small condo...big freaking bags of hay do t even make sense for me. This is compact and SO much less dust...I also have a bird and excess dust is not good to breathe for anyone especially him. This eliminates so much mess and waste. I can see if you have multiple pets or need a lot of hay this may not make sense but for the vast majority this should be a life saver for space and co trolling dust and mess. Not a lot of carrots in this just that front little strip you see. Not a deal breaker for me just an added treat for my bunny on top of me not having a mess. Once you pull this apart it is much more hay than you even think it could be. I usually break these in half for my baby bunny he is under a pound and way more than enough! Whoever came up with this deserves an award!!! 2 people found this helpful Helpful Report Mel5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Solution for hay allergies Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2020Style: Western Timothy (Standard) This product saved me. Our vet said to add Timothy to their diet. They currently eat orchard grass and oat hay. I wasn''t looking forward to sneezing again. No sneezing, and they''re making big, golden poops! The only downside is that it''s messy. I have four rabbits and one foster. I put these in their litterboxes. Everybun pulled these stacks out of their litterboxes and made a huge mess on the floor. If it wasn''t for the big, golden poops, I wouldn''t buy it. Helpful Report
