I was a little worried about toxicity and provided a separate drinking cup just in case. They have ignored it, and always drink from this alone. I knew it was unlikely that the sealant would affect the water because I applied it only along the underside edge; it''s not like it could travel upwards and round to the top of the brim and into the water itself, but better safe than sorry, right? After 5 weeks of both birds drinking and bathing in it, they are still happy, lively, and want no part of the other water source. Unfortunately, it did not fit properly through the cage door and made the bath bow out with huge gaps on each side. I got out the nippers and cut off the anchor, as seen in the 2nd photo. I then got out a nail file and filed down any sharp edges. You can see in my 3rd photo that the bath now sits flat against the cage. They wouldn''t go in it until the second day when I added kale and spinach to the water as another customer did. They like it. So far no leaking. *Update- after few weeks of using it, it has started leaking badly. As the birds splash and water runs down the clear top section, it is seeping through the seam and dripping all over the floor. Taking it apart and realigning it has not solved the issue.

**Update to Update - After getting frustrated with the leaking and fiddling with the gasket to no avail, I took the bath apart, used some clear silicone bathtub caulk and ran a bead of it into the groove of the clear part. I put the bath back together and used my finger to smooth out the "ooze" on the inside of the bath.
(SAFETY NOTE - The silicone has a VERY strong, potentially deadly, odor when fresh. Apply it outdoors, and then the leave the bath outside for several weeks until the silicone is completely cured and odor free. Only then is it safe to use with the birds.)
The bath has been drip free ever since and I again like the bath for it''s secure design and that way it works with quite a few of my cage door designs. 26 people found this helpful Helpful Report
