Last year we did see some studies that showed an association between grain free foods and cardiomyopathy in dogs but no specifics on this brand. We attempted to switch our dog and she wouldn''t take to the other foods, so we added rice to this food thinking it was the ''grain free'' element that was harmful. Inaccurate. We recently joined a new vet practice & the vet actually called us specifically to advise that we switch her off of this food to a major brand to reduce the risk of heart issues. It is not just an issue of the food being grain free but also the ingredients that this company uses. These small companies are not performing studies like companies like Purina. The decision of what food you feed your pet is an individual one, but for us, learning that there have been hundreds of cases of heart disease linked to grain free food and that despite FDA attempting to work with these companies, the cases continue, we started her on a new food from a large comapny right away. We. have a whole bag of this food and will never feed it to her and would not want to give it to anyone else either. The raw rev bits are so discolored they blend in with the kibble & the longer I kept the subscription the gassier my dog became. I noticed she was slower and slower with eating it to the point where she finally just pushed it around with her nose and walked away. The vet found parasite eggs in her stool that can only be found if a dog eats turkey/chicken feces. She’s an indoor dog in the city, the only turkey she can access is in this food...
