Update 07.02.2019 Bought a few more for my other cages. One of the best in the market. I am using them for more than a year. No fading still the same sharp color.
Original Review: Bought this for my zebra finch couple without realizing its a LARGE version. Received yesterday, put the cuttlebone inside the holder and hang it inside the cage. 1 minute later first the female and then he male started eating it. They like the perch and its really fun watching them. The quality is standard JW quality which is great like all the other products have from the company. I dont know how the small cuttlebone will show up in this large holder but a large cuttlebone fits perfect and even the small finches enjoy it. You will see in the video how both of them are having fun :)

This works great for holding the cuttlebone in my parakeet’s cage. He hasn’t been able to dislodge it like every other treat holder he has, the perch is also a plus.

Currently using in new cage... Much better than that flimsy metal piece they initially give with the cuttlebone purchase... It is made from a very durable, hard plastic that my cockatiel cant leave a mark on at all... I would suggest as well that u take off the plastic stand, and just place it at the end of a normal perch... dont risk a dead friend by leaving it on, or at least get some info on the product and read reviews... gonna see how long she lasts...

Bottom Line: This is a simple product--it is meant to hold a piece of cuttlebone, and it does exactly that. Now, with that being said, it also adds color to the cage, and its design makes it easy/comfortable for a small or medium-size bird to access the cuttlebone. My Lovebirds perch on the holder, and frequently gnaw on the cuttlebone it holds. Installation is very easy and secure.
Use: I have had this holder in a cage for about two months. It is sturdy, and my Lovebirds appear to find it easy to use.

I adore this product. Holds cuttle bone tightly and adjusts for thickness of product. Most importantly to me is the fact that my birds have yet to find a way to poop on their bones now. No more throwing out bones because they got waste on them before they could finish them. Also tightly holds bones in place so no more dropped bones that got dirtied by falling. Would definitely buy again.

UPDATE: I definitely see how a parakeet could get stuck upside down between the plastic curved perch and the holder. Today the holder was empty, but a small bit of water was in the bottom. I watched one of my birds lean way over to get at the water, and saw instantly that if he lost his balance, he would be stuck upside down, just like the accident reported by another reviewer. By all means remove that curved perch, they don''t need it. Mount the unit near one of their regular cage perches, and they''ll be fine. This is a design flaw, the gap is much too big, just about perfect parakeet size for a disaster to happen. I still like it for greens and treats, but without the perch.
Original Review: Bought this for its intended purpose but when I received it, I immediately saw that it would hold the greens that my birds love. I fold a large chard, kale, beet, or romaine leaf in half, doused in water and rinsed clean, stuff it into the holder, and the birds are delighted. The greens don''t fall on the floor and get dirty. I did not give it five stars because the perch part was broken when I got it, but luckily was able to glue it in place nice and tight with some E-6000. One person complained that the perch is slippery for his birds. It could be wrapped with cotton kitchen string or garden twine so their little feet can grab on. It also can be removed. I have my holder near one of their perches, so they just sit there and lean over to eat their salad. I think the best thing about it is that it keeps the food on the wall of the cage, avoiding it falling to the bottom and getting soiled. Amazon''s shipping was a bunch of stuff loose in a box, that''s why the holder got its perch broken on one side, but as I said, I was able to fix it easily with glue, and it''s probably stronger for that, anyway. Finally, one person had unfortunate accident in his bird''s cage with this holder. The perch can be entirely removed if you''re worried.

I''ve owned my Indian Ringneck parrot for yrs, and she will demolish a cuttlebone in matter of minutes. I have to buy her the big stone ones to last a bit longer. On the other hand, my green-cheek conure will savor his.
If you have ever had the issues I''ve had when trying to put on these cuttlebones to a cage, you will definitely want to purchase this handy little gadget. The holder is super easy to use and works well for smaller parrots. Simply unscrew the back nob and stick it the cage. There''s a latch to move for putting the cuttlebone in it. You don''t necessarily have to move it to put the cuttlebone in it.
The holder is plastic, so if your parrot is biter, it could lead to impaction if it swallowed pieces of plastic. Be sure to watch for this.
It comes with a removable perch. I left one on for my IRN, Sunshine, and took it off for my GCC, Skipper.
Overall, the value of this cuttlebone holder is great. Worth the price and works as expected!

With nearly an inch between the back and the bar designed for treats, this cuttlebone holder will hold only big items well. This is OK if you always buy the large (thick) cuttlebones or put in fat carrots or fruit slices for your birds. Littler items like skinnier cuttlebones or millet sprays fall out. Plus the bar, which ratchets onto a choice of 3 ridges, is not as firm in holding the treats as the treat holder I was replacing after over 10 years of fine service. Nor does it attach as firmly to the cage, using a plastic screw-on rather than the metal rings pet companies used to make for products like this. Only plus is the semicircular perch ring, which my keets like to sit on while investigating new treats..
