One of them, Howie, age 8, has had IBS in recent years - messy backend several times a week and vomiting food several times a week. I received something in the mail from Blue Diamond advertising Blissful Belly. I had always heard good things about Blue Buffalo. In fact, the rescue league my mom adopted her cats from made feeding it a criteria of adoption. So I thought, "very expensive but Howie is worth every penny if it makes him more comfortable." I did the gradual integration as recommended. Once it became the majority of the proportion (75 Blue Diamond Blissful Belly/25 Purina One Sensitive System), "Howie" stopped eating and just picked at his food for 2 days, then not eating at all and that is when he began limping. His mobility deteriorated and he ran a high fever - 103.9 - 105+ - two visits to the vet in 3 days, then one to the emergency clinic on Labor Day, under suspicion of liver failure, they did blood work. Results were good except the bilirubin number. Clearly, his high temperature and behavior indicated his body was fighting something out of nowhere - the only change was this expensive, "healthier" food. He went on a powerful antibiotic, had iv fluids twice in three days and somehow pulled through it. He was diagnosed "Fever of Unknown Origin". Here I am three weeks after he seems "normal" again and ready to stop his short term recovery prescription diet food, one day after reintroducing the mix of food (Purina One 25%, Blue Diamond Blissful Belly 75%), he is not eating and this evening he has started limping again. This is made me search the internet that led me to Amazon reviews on other Blue Diamond catfood products where others have shared remarkably similar experiences. The food is being dumped as soon as I finish typing this review and I too, will return to trustworthy Purina One. Admittedly, there are many very happy with Blue Diamond but there seems to be a certain percentage of us with cats experiencing extremely adverse and in some cases lethal reactions. If my post can assist just one person with saving their cat, I will feel better but wow, the FDA needs to step things up and get things right for our pets! 39 people found this helpful Helpful Report Mike5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Healthy and happy senior here! See more Our cat started developing food sensitivities as she approached 14 years of age. She would meow loudly after meals, had a frequent diarrhea and simply wasn''t doing great. At some point, I''ve noticed she had some blood in her stool. After a visit to the vet, who couldn''t find anything seriously wrong and suggested that older cats often develop bowel irritation, I''ve decided to try a "sensitive stomach" food.

After some trial and error, this one turned out to be the best one available!

She''s been on it for a couple of months and has not had a single diarrhea since, her coat looks great, she no longer meows loudly after meals and there has been no blood in the stool since. It''s amazing how well this formula works. She also gets the dry food version and loves both. Our new kitten sneaks in to steal some of her food as well, so it must taste good to them.

If you have a cat with tummy trouble, try Blissful Belly. Your cat will thank you.

See more My rescued cat has a serious problem with keeping anything down, between hairballs, an inherent sensitive stomach to begin with, and canned food that became too rich for him. Unfortunately, every product that I''ve tried, my cat ends up disliking, such as it is with this product which he liked at first but now won''t eat. But REJOICE for I have found the answer for fur ball relief with one simple answer... WATER! That''s it! I have been giving my cat his food with enough water mixed in to seriously curtail his vomiting. I started one month ago and except for one puking episode (his stomach is still sensitive), and that was minor, I''ve taken him off of dry food for good and got the best brush that I could find and I haven''t seen any hair in his vomit at all. So what about the stomach sensitivity? I add several drops of Homeopet digestive upset drops, that I got on amazon, into his food. After he drinks up all the water in his food (and the uneaten food sits in the bowl, I may add another couple of drops on top of that. He had now gone from vomiting as much as a dozen times a week, to puking once in the last three weeks (caused by chunky food. Pate''s are easier to digest.). I can finally shampoo my rugs again once per month instead of every week. Omt, when he does groom himself he''s almost adamant about it, so I stick a glob of cat laxative right into his mouth (avoiding his licking in even more hair). He hates it until he realises that it''s tasty. Then it''s okay. This works for me. Water is the answer. Good luck. 9 people found this helpful Helpful Report Sammie5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Perfect solution Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2020Style: Dry Cat FoodFlavor Name: ChickenSize: 3.5 Pound (Pack of 1) My cat doesn’t throw up this food 18 people found this helpful Helpful Report THE ROSE5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Consistently good BM’s Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2020Style: Dry Cat FoodFlavor Name: ChickenSize: 3.5 Pound (Pack of 1)

Tried Blissful Belly (I''ve tried SO many different foods for her!) and her system tolerated it and she liked it! I was SO happy. The third bag I buy and begin feeding to her she developed projectile diahrea as she would with any other cat foods her system cannot tolerate. I contacted Blue Buffalo and all they said was that they''d had no other complaints blah, blah, blah. I see in ''questions'' posted here that someone asked manufacturing origin and although it was answered USA they couldn''t say where the ingredients come from. So... I don''t know what to think except I''m not feeding my kitty Blissful Belly anymore. The only food she can tolerate is the Blue Buffalo Basics, Limited Ingredient series of kibble. And the drawback to that is the kibble is made up of small hard balls and my cat doesn''t much like either the fish or turkey flavors but she eats it because it''s all her system will tolerate. The only other cat food I feed her is Fancy Feast Beef pate'' and maybe one other FF pate'' because she likes it and eats it (she''s very picky too) and needs a little variety in her diet as eating the Ltd Basics kibble exclusively has caused her too much weight loss. (and believe me when I say that I''ve tried everything!) Pet food products no matter how much we pay for them, is a crap shoot with the ingredients! And I don''t believe much care is taken with the facilities that put this stuff out. I can buy my cat''s food, the same stuff time after time and at any given purchase NONE of my cats will eat it. Then the next time I buy it they gobble it up. There''s something hinky about that and it''s not just cats being finicky. I know finicky from bad tasting foods because I know my cats. When not even opossums, raccoons and stray cats will eat it, there''s something very wrong with it and it can happen from batch to batch processing. 8 people found this helpful Helpful Report Monnie5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase My cat wouldn''t even people food & inhaled this food. See more My cat liked it but she gained a lot of weight from it, this was originally bought so she could have easier digestion with food. She’s an older cat and gets constipated a lot. I can’t say that this did or didn’t do the job but i noticed she started gaining more weight from it. I just leave out food in a dish for her and she eats it when she wants. It’s never been a problem before with the other food I’ve done this with but seems like she’s gained weight more with this. I returned it and went back to my old one but the constipation problem still persists. She won’t eat coconut or pumpkin. Very picky eater and refuses pate of any kind. Oh well. Sure this is great for other people and she actually ate it but just not for my cat.
