He''s a bit weird -- he likes to sing, he talks to and fights with my innocent houseplants, he snorts like a pig, and he likes to hang from things like a monkey, hence his name. Besides that, though, he''s a sweet, weird little muppet (see pictures). There''s one thing, though, that this cat loves more than anything in the world -- more than plant wars, hanging, and singing -- and that is eating.

He''ll eat anything, all the time. And he''s so excited to eat! He eats when he''s hungry. He eats when he''s not hungry. He eats because he sees the others eating, and wants to eat, too. He makes happy snorting sounds when he eats. It''s his favorite thing. And no, he doesn''t have worms or anything... he''s just Monkey.

Any other cat food he''ll eat way too much of, way too quickly, and then immediately puke. I tried separating him from my other cats. I tried feeding him and only him at specific times. I tried so many different kinds and brands of food. The end result was always the same. I don''t know what it is, but with this cat food, he can be himself and puke so much less. Where it used to be at least a few times a day, now it''s maybe once a week.

Maybe he enjoys this brand more, and so he eats it more slowly and savors it. Maybe he enjoys this brand less, and so he eats less of it. I''m not really sure; the data isn''t reliable enough to make a statement about it. well since my cat i originally got this for cannot eat chicken anything unless it is only a trace amount like the chicken liver flavor in original recipe, since chicken is now a main ingredient i guess we can no longer use this food since new recipe is no longer going to be a ''sensitive stomach'' dry food for him at all nor is it going to be for my other cats who get the original recipe mixed in at 50/50 with their wellness core turkey duck dry food. they cannot handle chicken either for everytime they get into our two other cat''s hills perfect weight management dry food that has chicken first, they vomit it back up every darn time..

really getting tiring to have these food companies changing recipes when it is NOT needed and without really letting customers know ahead of time at that. right now pics on here only show you the coming soon new bag; it doesn''t say new recipe in pics or description but, if you pay close attention, you will see that new bag look shows different kibbles and it says chicken and rice, so i went to their website and sure enough they didn''t just add chicken into ingredients, they reformulated the whole recipe to be a totally new dry food!!!

well guess time to take this food off autoship and start hunting down a new dry food for the soon to be grumpy picky ones when they don''t get their hill''s kibbles anymore.. on the bright side, this food was way too high in carbs anyways so maybe it is a blessing it got reformulated to not be a sensitive stomach food anymore..

update: if you are in need of a new food now, i am having good luck with american journey grain-free duck dry food (chewy brand). it is lower in carb (24-25% dry carb matter), there has been no vomiting/stomach upsets since starting it on feb 15th, no poop issues (actually they are now mostly less bulky so less scooping for me) and all but, 2 of our 9 cats that can have it like it. even our IBD cat that was doing well eating original hills sensitive after we got him better with homemade food first, has been transitioning to AJ dry duck food very well too, no poop or vomiting from him either.. only thing is calories are about 100 less i believe per cup compared to hill''s so you may have to feed a little more dry food than you normally feed if you count/limit calories. Still 1/4 cp of it twice a day (about 205 cal) is more than enough calories for most average not that active 12-13 lbs or less cats so you still don''t use a lot of this food either in the end. we are happy with the switch so thought i''d share that info for those not sure what to switch too if their cats cannot eat chicken either or are not doing well on new hill''s sensitive formula.. 167 people found this helpful Helpful Report Chasity Lopez1.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Ugh formula changed! I find it incredible that when you introduce a new food to a cat you’re supposed to do it over a period of time. This was BAM new formula with no warning from a company who manufactures the food and suggests how to feed.

Edit 4/9/2019: Having success with Purina Pro Plan Lamb and Rice formula. We are now back to normal poops and no stomach pain howling. We tried limited ingredient foods, and grain free, but none would keep her stomach in check for more than a couple of weeks. Her issues always came back. Eventually, her vet recommended we try this science diet sensitive stomach, and it has been an absolute miracle.

We don''t have a cat getting sick anymore on a daily basis, or nearly as many hairballs (now its once in a blue moon). She has gained back weight (she actually went in the opposite direction and became overweight, which was something we were warned about ahead of time). We were used to feeding her more food since she didn''t always keep it down and kept feeding her the same amount every day - which ended up causing her to gain weight, so we had to cut back. Otherwise, she is happy, thriving, and no longer suffering from her stomach issues. She has been on this food for 6 months now, and I am happy to say that my cat is thriving again!

The odor is minimal, and smells like a generic cat food (no fishy or otherwise strong odors). The pieces are small enough for her to chew easily, She had no issue from day one with the flavor, and was able to eat it easily from the start.

Well, the vet was right i was wrong and i just asked my cat about the flavor and he says "meow" which i think means 5 stars , and "finally the naked ape stopped being cheap and buying us walmart junk." They''ve been on another Hills science diet formula for a year now, with only minor vomiting from the one cat (but her pro/prebiotics powder helps loads). Thought I could eliminate that with going with this one which has better ingredients. I transition food very slowly, few pieces of the new food in each bowl mixed with the old food. After a day of trying that (none of them were too picky about it), they began throwing up, one after another. This was last week that I went strictly to their "old" food and my one kitty is still throwing up multiple times a day.. Two of my cats never throw up, even when changing food!
