A trick we use for our older Mini Poodle is to mix his total water ration in his Hills Science Diet. The Mini Schnauzer also likes 2 tablespoons of water mixed with his food. The natural oils in the Hill''s dog food leaves their coats soft, shiny and healthy.

For a 28lb Dog, that’s a lot! She can’t afford the extra weight, as corgis are prone to back problems and arthritis as they age, so I had to get her back on her diet again. I don''t feed Hill''s exclusively because I like to spoil my pets with some variety. But it is mostly Hills. Adult Small Bites has been well accepted by my terrier x corgi mix and my chihuahua x beagle. One of them practically inhales food, and the other has collapsing trachea. They both tend to choke on larger kibble. Neither will take the time to chew the big pieces much, so the smaller kibble size is ideal. Coat, longevity, and general health have been excellent for many pets on Hills. There are other good foods out there, but few for which the quality of ingredients is consistent and the laboratory analysis matches the guaranteed analysis on the package (which is not required by law). Several reviewers have mentioned a recall and that this brand has made their pet sick. I have watched closely, and I have not seen any signs of illness with our dog. I have also seen no recalls of this product in the past year. In fact, when we rescued our dog from the local shelter, we were advised to feed the dog Hill''s Science Diet as it was the preferred dog food of the shelter.
