I couldn''t tell from the picture and was hoping....the top is also made of the cage material. I was little bit afraid it was just mesh or something but it''s not. The only complaint I have is it comes with no directions on putting it together. Also, make sure you have some pliers handy. There are parts that are supposed to snap into other parts but it was like pulling teeth to get them together. The cover is crap, but you can always buy a tarp. You get what you pay for.
The enclosure itself is heavily built and sturdy, no way my rabbits are getting out of it, so I am overall pleased. Not sure if everyone else was getting the same pen as mine, because mine has TWO tiny slide-up doors (one on each length side), TWO large doors with the hinges (one on each width side) and another large door in the roof of the pen. It has plenty of room for her to run around in and she really enjoyed it the sun and fresh air. Unfortunately the box came a bit torn up and there were no directions inside and the indoor and outdoor stakes were missing. We are temporarily using shish kabob iron sticks but they aren''t long enough to go into the ground, but they do hold it together. We looked at the reviews and found a video on how to assemble it. It was a bit difficult to understand and much easier with two people than one person. We accomplished it with a little frustration.

We thought it was too flimsy for our bunny even if we weren''t going to leave her outside unattended. A dog or rowdy cat (which we have) could easily get into the cage by just tipping it over from underneath; there isn''t a bottom and pushing on it enough could cause it to come undone. We don''t want a bottom to the cage anyway, we wanted her to experience the great out of doors unhampered. But then again not for leaving your pet unattended.

We put cable ties every place it joined and it made it much more sturdier and can now be more easily moved around the yard with two people so she can explore different places.
