Both build quality and image quality are great, chime is loud and clear. However, the human detection is not good and there are a lot of false triggers. If you have never heard of eufy, they are a division of Anker, the company that has been making wall chargers, charging cables, and power banks for years. They have been selling home security products such as cameras and doorbells for a few years now, and their products are generally high quality and receive top ratings in comparison to other popular brands like Arlo and Ring. One feature of most of their products that I really like is that they usually do not require a monthly subscription to access all of the functionality like those other brands do. For example, I have a Ring Video Doorbell 3, and I have to pay a monthly fee in order to automatically save my videos to watch later. But this eufy video doorbell has 16GB of local storage built into the door chime (Which is also the base station for the doorbell). So it will store all of the videos it records there until you run out of space, then it will just overwrite the oldest videos. But 16GB should allow you to store several months of videos before anything would be overwritten, and you always have the option to save any videos on your phone. For example, if a suspicious person comes to your house or somebody steals a package off of your porch, you could save the video to show to the police later. The video quality of my Ring Video Doorbell 3 was a huge improvement over my original Ring Doorbell. But the 2K video quality of this eufy doorbell is just as much of any improvement over my current doorbell as that one was over the previous one. The picture quality is amazing. Everything is so clear. I am definitely not going to renew my Ring subscription after using this eufy doorbell for a few days. I will completely switch to using the eufy. The only negative is that the person detection needs to be improved. Often it will notify me when a car is driving by or a tree branch is blowing in the wind, as if it has detected a person. But otherwise this doorbell is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their home more secure.

This Eufy doorbell is trivially easy to install if you are going to go with battery power with maximum flexibility for location, and is straightforward to install if you want to wire it (but still have a battery backup). The battery after testing this for a month is at 45%, but as will be noted below, this bell captures quite a number of false positive events. I still think the battery even given that depletion is outstanding compared to other batteries, the software for image recognition needs improvement. The image quality is quite good and people do move relatively naturally through the captures.
My setup for this doorbell is a bit more value-added. I already have a Eufy Homebase (not included with this doorbell) for other cameras in my home. Syncing the bell with the Homebase is literally a 5 second button press away and the firmware does update through the Homebase connected through your app. It integrates easily with the app, and there are no major issues with connection or retention.
The mounting of this is very easy with detailed instructions if you want to integrate this into your traditional bell system. If you do not, you can purely go off battery (and I opted for that as my bell setup is a bit cramped and off-angle for where I wanted the camera to face. The battery is supposedly advertised at 6 months if 10 events a day are recorded, but if you have a road in front of you, the camera will constantly go off, even given the lack of facing pedestrians toward you. There is a chime that you put somewhere inside for the doorbell to sound. It is quite flexible and the wifi connection is quite good.
The first major criticism of this product is the AI needs to learn a lot more for facial recognition as it is too sensitive. If you have other cameras from Eufy, the same AI is used for the doorbell camera as is for the other independent cameras, so way, way too sensitive. People who are incidentally walking on the street get picked up. High winds in your area get picked up and so do cars even though supposedly, you can exclude areas to not pick up. It is very frustrating and the battery drains more than advertised. Charging it is a breeze though and it is easy to dismount for a charge.
Unfortunately, the bell is a little too easy to dismount. The theft potential for someone to steal and immediately destroy the is extremely simple. The detachment tool literally looks like a SIM Card tool as pictured. Anyone who knows you have a Eufy bell can easily walk up, use a pin or a SIM Card tool, pop out the bell, and run away with it. Sure, it will sound an alarm on your app, but anyone reasonably aware of where the SD card is can remove and destroy it before you can view the image on the Eufy App. The local memory wipe before app transmission is a major security flaw, and I hope this is promptly addressed in a firmware update. Otherwise, if you are very concerned, I would get the optional subscription (and I hope it works). I had this tested with a couple of neighbors, and we all agree that if you happen to know that you mounted a Eufy doorbell, removing and smashing it is a 60 seconds or less proposition, and woe to you if you were depending on the onboard memory as you can destroy it sooner than you can react. There needs to be some image caching on the app when someone approaches. On the other hand, the peripheral vision is excellent. Even if you know it is there, no one is thin enough to perfectly approach the bell from a side without getting picked up (the overly sensitive pickups help you here), so ninjaing this doorbell is unrealistic.
If you already have other Eufy cameras and can live with the overly sensitive camera, I think this can work well. I do not think that local storage without a backup write outside of the bell works well for a reasonably competent vandal is going to work, but the alarm will trigger, just too often.

Let''s start with some of the obvious stuff, this is a very attractive product because it doesn''t require a subscription service to utilize seeing alerts and clips. This is my first proper smart doorbell I''ve personally used but I''m no stranger to smart home devices and setups.
The setup process was pretty simple, and the wireless setup is what I opted for since I was replacing some old basic wireless battery-powered doorbell. The last cheap knock-off camera/doorbell I tried was way more bulky and didn''t offer much configuration and customization and while it touted a good battery life it was far from it. I feel like with this Eufy product it''s going to hold true to its up to 6-month battery life before you need to recharge it.
I had it setup in just a few minutes time. Just be warned that the receiver device will speak to help you with the configuration process when first powered on and going through the setup. So if you have sleeping babies near by, just be warned :-)
I was annoyed that it uses micro-USB and not USB type-C given it''s a modern and not cheap product but given I''ll only recharge it every few months it''s not worth downgrading my rating.
I do wish it had a full time recording setting but I didn''t find one in the app (thinking like a Wyze Cam) but I know that would heavily impact the battery life. I''m still fine tuning some of the settings I prefer but I do really love the amount of customization offered for a product that doesn''t require a regular subscription. I can add other users so my wife can get the Eufy Secure app and be able to see who is at the door and such.
I just don''t think you''ll find many other smart doorbells like this brand which are cheaper and don''t come at a loss of many other features and customizations offered here.

Our doorbell broke and we installed this instead. I couldn’t get a good camera angle if we hardwired it to the place our old doorbell was. So we had to use the battery option and install it elsewhere. Pros: 1) Easy to understand. 2) Quality of video is good and it is very effective in detecting movement. 3) Bell is loud and clear enough in a 3 bedroom single storey house.
Cons: The screws that came with it to install were really poor quality. Few turns with the screwdriver and the grooves that lock with the screwdriver vanished and started just twirling around. It was painful. For all the thought they put into the device, I wish they provided better screws.
