Checking and Replacing Gaskets

Common Gasket Problems

Signs of a bad gasket can be the engine “dropping out” or not starting due to a lack of pressure. Oil leaks and excessive smoke from the exhaust are also signs of a bad gasket

How to Install a New Gasket

Check your engine manual for the correct model number to reference gasket part numbers. Remove the old gasket and with a razor blade remove all debris and remaining gasket particles. Align the new gasket and re-assemble.

Gasket Sets

Gasket sets are available for rebuilding carburetors and engines. When disassembling equipment and breaking any seals it’s recommended to replace the gasket and re-seal.
